SeekHut is operated by OOG Project OÜ, a company registered in the Republic of Estonia. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, protect, and share your personal information when you use our platform.

SeekHut is a marketplace platform that connects seekers (those who need services or items) with taskers (those who offer services or items). For the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other applicable data protection laws, OOG Project OÜ is the data controller responsible for your personal information.
2. Information we collect
SeekHut only captures details that allow the marketplace to function, keep members safe, and deliver accurate billing records. We do not collect government-issued identification documents, biometric data, or sensitive personal information unless specifically required for a transaction dispute.

Under the GDPR, we process your personal data based on the following legal grounds:

5. How your data is stored and protected
SeekHut uses encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) across all parts of the platform. Profile and messaging data is stored with our managed infrastructure partners using industry-standard encryption at rest and in transit. Payment details are handled exclusively by PCI-DSS compliant processors and never touch our servers directly.
Access to production systems is limited to authorized team members with role-based access controls and multi-factor authentication. We conduct regular security reviews and maintain encrypted, monitored backups that are rotated regularly.
6. International data transfers
As SeekHut operates from Estonia (European Union), some of your data may be transferred to and processed in countries outside the EU/EEA. When this occurs, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, including:
- Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission
- Transfers to countries with an adequacy decision from the EU
- Binding corporate rules where applicable

Service providers only
We do not sell or rent your personal details. Information is shared strictly with partners who support critical operations—hosting, authentication, messaging infrastructure, analytics, and payment processing. Each partner is contractually bound to use the data solely for SeekHut services.

We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or government request, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of SeekHut, our users, or the public.
8. Your privacy rights
Under the GDPR and other applicable laws, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

10. Children's privacy
SeekHut is intended for users who are at least 16 years of age. Users between 16 and 17 years old must have parental or guardian consent to use the platform. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.
If we become aware that we have collected personal data from a child under 16 without appropriate consent, we will take steps to delete that information as quickly as possible. If you believe we may have collected information from a child under 16, please contact us immediately at hi@seekhut.com.
11. Data retention
We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy:
- Account data: Retained while your account is active, plus 30 days after deletion to allow for account recovery.
- Financial records: Retained for 7 years to comply with legal and tax requirements.
- Messages and communications: Deleted when your account is closed, or after 1 year of account inactivity.
- System logs: Retained for 90 days for troubleshooting and security purposes.
When data is no longer needed, it is securely deleted or anonymized so it can no longer be associated with you.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, operational, or regulatory reasons. When we make material changes, we will:
